Decoration Day

until WWII was finished, the holiday that we call Memorial Day was called Decoration Day because people decorated the graves of those who had died defending the US in WWI and II on that occasion. since then, it has been renamed Memorial Day to honor servicemen and women who gave their lives in all wars. orla and her classmate, tory, led the Memorial Day Assembly and gave us all a lesson on how and why we celebrate Memorial Day. above is a pic of tory and orla at the podium surrounding Dr. Piper Smith-Mumford, Principal of Pierce.
