so far, our heroes have not been asked to write an essay about what they did on their summer vacation. i am sure, if they are asked, that theirs will come out a little differently than my version. but just in case, here is my list as a helpful reminder:

- fished
- ate ice cream
- helped rebuild to back stairs
- met new cousin Maeve
- went to Block Island
- boogie boarded, body surfed, played in the sand, ate ice cream, kayaked, fished, caught fish, ate fish, ate cake, tied flies, flew kites, ate lobsters, ate s'mores, watched movies, took ferries, waited for a hurricane that never came
